Abstract

Climate change is a common challenge faced by human society today.

Actively addressing climate change and accelerating the transition to clean energy and low-carbon development have become a global consensus.

According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report released in October 2018, to avoid extreme harm, global warming must be limited to within 1.5°C.

Achieving this goal requires net-zero greenhouse gas emissions worldwide by the mid-21st century.

In 2022, China's total exports of fiberglass and fiberglass products reached 1.83 million tons, representing a year-on-year growth of 9.0%. The Russia-Ukraine conflict and the COVID-19 pandemic triggered a global energy crisis and supply chain disruptions, leading to a decline in overseas fiberglass production capacity. This is expected to create new growth opportunities for China's fiberglass and fiberglass product exports in the future.

The simultaneous development of the foreign language version of this standard provides a basis for guiding fiberglass and fiberglass product manufacturers in relevant countries in conducting carbon emissions accounting. It also offers a carbon emissions accounting reference for Chinese fiberglass and fiberglass product manufacturers in export trade.
